Salvation-Oak Hill Baptist Church

Are you saved?

It is a question that we all must answer.  It doesn't matter how rich or poor, or nice or mean you are. It doesn't matter if you are a church member or not, or how many good deeds you do. What does matter is whether you are saved.  Are you sure you will go to Heaven when you die?  You can be sure today!

The Bible is God's Word.  In it, He tells us that we are all sinners and have come short of the glory of God. The Bible says Godís punishment for sin is death.  This means eternal separation from God in Hell.  But God has provided a way for us to gain His forgiveness.  By His mercy and grace for us, He sent His only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross as a way of paying for our sins.  Jesus paid the price for your sin and mine by giving His life on the cross at Calvary.  Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after His crucifixion.  That is the victory over sin and death.  That paved the way for us to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus.  All that's left for you to do is to accept the gift that is Christ Jesus.  Are you ready to accept the gift of eternal life that Jesus is offering you right now?  If it is your sincere desire to ask Jesus to come into your heart as your personal Lord and Savior, then talk to God from your heart.  Ask Him to come into your heart and into your life.  You can be saved today!

The Bible says there is only one way to Heaven.

Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me." (John 14:6)

Good works cannot save you.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Trust Jesus Christ today! Here's what you must do:

  1. Admit you are a sinner.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23)

  1. Be willing to turn from sin (repent).

Jesus said: "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:5)

  1. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)

  1. Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Saviour.

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)

Whosoever includes you. "Shall be saved" doesn't mean maybe, or can, it means will be saved.

God said my sins and your sins were laid upon Jesus and He died in our place.  He became our substitute.  Simply believe on Him as the one who bore your sin, died in your place, was buried, and rose again on the third day.

Right now, wherever you are, ask Jesus to save you today.
You might think, "Surely, it cannot be that simple."  Yes, it is just that simple.  The holy scriptures attest to that fact.  It is God's plan. Believe on Jesus and receive Him as Savior today.  If His plan is not perfectly clear, read the Bible, read this page over and over, or talk to a trusted pastor or friend until you understand it.  Your soul is worth more than all the world.  "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?" (Mark 8:36)

If you decide to accept Jesus as your Savior, then be baptized, worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached and the Bible is the final authority.  If you are not in a good church, we would love to have you join us here at Oak Hill.  Your new spiritual life needs care just like your physical life.  Just as a new baby in a family, you may need help in beginning your Christian life.

Three good things to practice daily for spiritual growth are:
Pray - Talk to God each day, praising Him, discussing your life, and asking Him to direct your path.
Read the Bible - Get to know God better. He will speak to you through His Word.
Witness - Tell others about Jesus

If you have trusted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please let us know.  We want to rejoice in what God has done in your life, and we want to pray for you as you begin your new life in Christ!
